My two children, a son and daughter, are both grown and finished with school. My son is

Robert (Toby) Montez
- E-Mail: rmontez@pacbell.com
- College(s): San Francisco State University
- Occupation: Director of Human Relations/Attendance and
Welfare for the San Mateo Union High School District
- Last Updated: 08/15/1999
- What's New?: I was known as Toby in high school and,
actually, ever since I can remember. We moved to the Bay Area the
summer I graduated due to the closure of A.C.F. where my father was
employed. It's been interesting and fun running into two other fellow
"Class of 1967" alumni from Del Norte High School in the area where we
settled, Vallejo, California, because their fathers were also employed
at A.C.F. I attended San Francisco State University soon after
arriving in the Bay Area and graduated with a B.A. in 1972. I have
since completed two Masters degrees and two credentials, all at San
Francisco State University. I have been a counselor, dean, assistant
principal, and junior high school principal. I have worked in San
Francisco, Oakland, Vallejo, and the San Mateo public school districts.
I am presently a district level administrator in the position of
Director of Human Relations/Attendance and Welfare with the San Mateo
Union High School District. It's also interesting to see those of you
with alumni pages in this web site who are in public education careers.
Was it something about the Del Norte experience? I got married to a
great woman, Jocelyn, in 1982. We have three wonderful daughters, aged
16, 13 and 10 years old. I do get back home on occasion and am amazed
at the growth that Albuquerque has experienced over the years. My
brother, Stan, who would have graduated in 1968, has been home sick
since we got here in 1967. He got his dream come true when he moved back
a few years ago. He is currently employed with the New Mexico State
Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. By coincidence, I have some
in-law relations who have moved to Rio Rancho after living many years in
California and are loving it. So, we do have reason to visit every
opportunity that we can. Isn't Del Norte's web site fantastic? I
understand that the students are responsible for all of it. Pretty
impressive! I would enjoy very much hearing from any fellow alumnus,
just e-mail me.

Gary Wolfe
- E-Mail: gwolfe207@earthlink.net
- College(s): University of New Mexico (undergraduate), Colorado State University (grad. school)
- Occupation: Wildlife Conservationist
- Last Updated: 06/03/2007
- What's New?: After graduating from DNHS, I attended the University of New Mexico, majoring in biology and chemistry, then earned my masters and doctorate in wildlife biology from Colorado State University.
During my college years I spent the summers working as a park ranger...four summers as a backcountry and climbing ranger at Mount Rainier National Park in Washington, followed by a season at Big Bend National Park in Texas.
After graduate school I spent 12 years at Vermejo Park Ranch, a large cattle ranch and hunting and fishing resort in northern New Mexico. It was pretty cool! I got to do a lot of different jobs including fishery and wildlife biologist, wrangler, hunting and fishing guide, part-time ranch hand and cowboy, and general manager. While at the ranch, I married Rita Boulton (Santa Fe High School, class of '74) in 1980.
We left Vermejo in 1986 to work for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, an international wildlife conservation organization that focuses on the conservation of elk and elk habitat. We moved to Missoula, Montana in 1988 to work at the Elk Foundation's International Headquarters. I retired from the Elk Foundation as President & CEO in May 2001.
Following my "retirement", I founded Conservation Resources Group, a private natural resources consulting company. I'm staying really busy with a number of interesting clients and projects. You can check out one of my projects (chronic wasting disease) at www.cwd-info.org.
Rita and I still live in Missoula, MT and enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities including fly fishing, whitewater rafting, hunting, hiking, camping, and cross country skiing. Look us up if you are ever up this way. We always enjoying seeing our friends from New Mexico.
